Johann Sebastian Bach, Sonata II BWV 1003, Fuga

  1. The original must be just brutally difficult. None of the performances I've sampled on YouTube manages to avoid obvious intonation problems. Not even Kuijken! (Paul Zukofsky either.)

  2. That's impressive. The sense of effort is unavoidable, but the intonation was solid (unless you count an expressive bend in loud double-stops).
