The productivity advice is ...Do impractical things. The productivity advice is all about being practical and goal oriented, if you are not doing something recreational and NOT work. One thing that is hard for me to do therefore is read academic or intellectual books that I have no reason to think I will ever "need" to read, but that I am just interested in.
