chimpunk
There was a new variety of chipmunk, perhaps a hybrid with another species, that befriended people, wanted to be close to them when they were camping, as we were in this dream.
I have had some creative dreams lately and should have written them down. I one, a friend and I were packing male authors into boxes, to protect them from a war that was coming. They authors were wooden marionettes and folded up very nicely for packing.
This squirrel/chipmunk is really affecting you.
