A Pocketful of Lorca
That's how one of my students interpreted the title of my book orally. A nice little mondegreen. I should actually write a book called A Pocketful of Lorca! Either that or articulate my words more carefully.
I think someone who's never heard the word before and is trying to make of a passing mention of your books title could easily make this mistake even if you said it perfectly clearly.
And, yes, I DO think you should edit a companion anthology of Lorca and translations of Lorca called A Pocketful of Lorca.
I'm trying to decide whether that tells me how you pronounce apocryphal.
ReplyDeleteApparently I say "apocaful"

Yes, imagine the confusion that would cause!
ReplyDeleteI like this title, yes.
