Why do Oliver Stone and Chomsky [fill in other names too] like Putin? It is not as though Putin were a left-wing guy, after all. Is there something I'm not getting here?
Well, they don't really believe that. It is one of those situations in which people don't actually believe their beliefs. You don't find them moving to Venezuela.
Right, but I have decided not to allow people that out any more. They may not actually believe their beliefs, but if they're propagating them, I'm taking them at their word.

They and others believe Putin acts as a corrective to American propaganda and mythology.
(That's a worthwhile reason to like some people but not to like Putin.)
It's a fallacy, in my view.
Anything is better than US hegemony, they claim. I'm also assuming they favor dictatorships and think life is better in RU and its colonies
