First Seminar
In October I am giving my first, ever talk on scholarly productivity outside of my own university. I've given workshops for grad students, but never taken this show on the road. I will be talking at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville on "The Open Secrets of Scholarly Productivity." In other words, what everyone who productive already knows (pretty much) and what the conventional wisdom has wrong.

You can really teach people a lot on this subject. You know how you often ask people about their research and the light goes out of their eyes? I was like that, too. It was an endlessly sore point with me.
And now it isn't any more. Things are happening in my research, I have a very clear agenda and a 5-year research plan, I know exactly what I'm doing, and it's a great source of happiness.
This is all because I found your blog a while ago. If I hadn't, I'd be sitting here, deathly worried about tenure, depressed, and unpublishable right now.
