Safety
A new journal for which I just reviewed an article proposes to be a "safe space." It's hard to know what that means. As this discourse filters into new spaces it loses some of its meaning.
Safe for what or would that reveal too much? If journals are safe will they have an edge? Plus I thought you had to write really safe things to get into journals, and that that was why they were so stodgy. Safe from reviewer #2?
