I guess I should eventually compare my Gadamerian project with this Habermasian project, at some point. (Speaking of elegy.) In the context of Auden's "thou shalt not commit a social science" I should mention I am son of social scientist?

Both Gadamer and Habermas arise out of a Protestant view of hermeneutics, with Habermas more in the line the runs from the Puritan revolution to the enlightenment.
