The delusions and pretentions of yesterday seem very distant. Maybe something to do with the temperature of two degrees. Thank God we're not in thrall to them any more! Yet today's delusions and pretentions are insidiously woven into the fabric of today's spurious optimism. The clarity with which we see our past mistakes is a mere illusion.
