Thrombus is a heavy-sounding word
strong and direct like the lethal thing it is
yet colder and more clinical
than its cousin blood clot.
The word thrombus came up in the crossword puzzle today. I didn't know what it meant so I looked it up. Then I wrote this poem on my walk. It is part of my vocabulary lessons series.
